OWED TO JOY

is an ode to joy
or to what is owed
to joy or to the joy
of the ode that is owed
to joy or to the joy of
owing something to joy
or to anything at all.

owing is the natural state,
what we owe to the earth,
to the universe, to land, sky,
air. it's all these people who
think it's all for free who are
the problem.

as if we have no debt that
we must be mindful of
and must pay every day.
